Local SEO for Cork businesses: the parts that move the needle

7 min read

The unglamorous fundamentals that decide whether a Cork business shows up when somebody searches for what it does.

Local search is less mysterious than it is made to sound. Google is trying to answer a simple question: which nearby business best matches this search, and can it be trusted? Most of the work is making that easy to establish.

Give each service a real page

A single page listing eight services will rarely outrank eight pages that each answer one question thoroughly. Each service page should describe the service, who it suits, what it involves, what it costs in broad terms and what happens next.

Be unambiguous about location

Location signals belong in your page titles, your headings where natural, your contact details, your structured data and your Google Business Profile — consistently, in the same format, everywhere. Stuffing 'web design Cork' into every paragraph does the opposite of helping.

Speed and structure are ranking work

Most local sites lose ground on the technical side: heavy images, blocking scripts, inconsistent headings, no internal linking between related pages. Fixing those is often faster and cheaper than any content campaign, and it improves conversion at the same time.

  • One logical H1 per page, clean H2/H3 hierarchy
  • Responsive, modern-format images and lazy loading below the fold
  • LocalBusiness structured data with accurate details
  • Internal links between related services and projects
  • Complete, current Google Business Profile with real photos
